Sklavenitis Cyprus operates as a retail grocery and consumer goods business in Cyprus. The company traces its origins to 1954 when it was established in Greece by brothers Spyros and Giannis Sklavenitis and their associate Miltiadis Papadopoulos, initially conducting wholesale food distribution to grocery stores and packaging spice products. The business expanded significantly in 1967 with the creation of a telephone ordering service, and in 1971 opened its first supermarket location. The company remained committed to providing quality products at competitive prices alongside prompt service.
Sklavenitis Cyprus became part of the Sklavenitis Group, which was formed in 2015 and includes multiple subsidiaries. In Cyprus, the company currently operates 18 retail stores and one food preparation facility. The Cypriot operations employ more than 1,500 staff members who serve in excess of 20,000 customers on a daily basis.
