CYENS - CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE

CYENS - CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE is a research and innovation facility specializing in interactive media, smart systems, and emerging technologies. The organization supports the transfer of knowledge and technology throughout the region. Funding and support come from the European Commission, the Republic of Cyprus, and a network of founding partners including the Municipality of Nicosia, Max Planck Institute for Informatics, University College London, University of Cyprus, Cyprus University of Technology, and Open University of Cyprus.

The centre conducts research across visual sciences, human factors and design, communication, and artificial intelligence, with teams comprised of researchers from multiple disciplines. CYENS - CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE pursues knowledge transfer and innovation initiatives that connect scientific research with technology-driven innovation and business development. The organization received over 30 million Euros in combined funding for its initial seven-year period, drawing from Horizon 2020 Teaming Action grants and additional sources, alongside a framework for sustained operations and expansion.
