The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra Foundation was established in 2006 through a decision by the Council of Ministers to advance orchestral music and enhance musical education and engagement across the country. Starting January 1, 2007, the Foundation took over operations of the State Chamber Orchestra and State Youth Orchestra, which were subsequently renamed the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra and Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra. The organization also oversees the CyYSO Academy of the Youth Orchestra and operates the Pallas Theatre. The Foundation's mandate centers on promoting orchestral music, strengthening musical life and education within the nation, encouraging public participation in musical endeavors, and fostering socio-economic development through cultural exchange, operating under its Founding Statute and state directives.
