SME

SME is a Cyprus-based research organization established in 2019 that operates primarily in security-related fields. The company produces technology solutions and concepts derived from its research activities and is involved in the development, execution, and administration of research initiatives funded by European sources.

IANUS, a division of SME, operates with a team of nineteen scientists across multiple disciplines. The organization includes former military personnel with extensive operational experience in intelligence and defense roles, full-stack software developers, systems engineers, and computer scientists with specializations in systems design, human-computer interaction, data analysis, and artificial intelligence. Additional staff comprise postdoctoral researchers with backgrounds in analytical chemistry and biology with expertise in CBRN matters and involvement in EU-funded research, as well as market analysts and legal specialists with knowledge of European data protection and ethics regulations. IANUS holds associated partner status with the European Network of Law Enforcement Technology Services (ENLETS).

The company is currently engaged in eighteen European research projects and is in the process of preparing proposals for upcoming funding calls.
