TGI Fridays originated in New York City in 1965, when a perfume salesman opened a bar on First Avenue at 63rd Street with the goal of drawing in a fashionable clientele. The establishment quickly became successful and took on its distinctive name. The company expanded internationally, arriving in Cyprus in 1996 with its inaugural location in Nicosia's city centre.
The chain operates seven restaurants across Cyprus. Two locations are situated in Nicosia, including one in the city centre and another at the Mall of Cyprus. Limassol hosts three venues: one at Enaerios, one at MyMall, and one at Limassol Marina. Additional restaurants operate in Larnaca at Finikoudes and in Paphos at Kings Avenue Mall. TGI Fridays functions as a full-service restaurant business operating throughout the island.
